Q: Who is WreathsForTheFallen.org?
A: The first year of laying Honor Wreaths was in 2006 and 5 were placed at the cemetery. In its first year WreathsForTheFallen.org (as the organizations’ name became) increased the number of Honor Wreaths and the numbers soared from about 90 in 2008, to a record breaking 8000 Honor Weaths in 2025, when every veteran and their sponsored family member interred there, received a Sponsored Honor Weath. The years ahead are projected to be substantially greater as there are almost 400-500 burials every year at Little Falls, Preston, Duluth, Redwood Falls and Leach Lake.
Q: What do you mean by “specific grave request”?
A: WreathsForTheFallen.org has a unique operatio in that it maintains a record of the sponsored fallen veterans.
Q: What do you mean by “Fallen Veteran”?
A: Whether the Veteran was KIA (killed in action) or passed away due to age or sickness or an accident they are still fallen veterans. They raised their hand and vowed to protect our country. God bless them all.
Q: What is your mission?
A: Our Mission is to Honor Our Veterans by providing sponsored Honor Wreaths for the Minnesota State Veterans Cemeteries in December of each year.
Q: What is ment by sponsored Honor Wreath?
A: WreathsForTheFallen.org records the contact information of all the families that donate. Each family sponsors a wreath for a veteran at one of the MN State Veteran Cemeteries. Since all the sponsorships are for Honor Wreaths for certain veterans, they are called sponsored Honor Wreaths. If for some reason WreathsForTheFallen.org does not have the funds to purchase wreaths for all the fallen veterans in all 5 MN State Veteran Cemeteries we would supply Honor Wreaths to those veterans sponsored by you.
Q: Who actually places the Honor Wreaths on the graves?
A: Veteran family members and number of military organizations’ participate such as; the Patriot Guard, Boy Scout Troups, VFW & Legion posts, WreathsForTheFallen.org members, Local families and anyone that would like to assist with this honorable project.
Q: Can I have a Honor Wreath placed on a family member’s grave?
A: Yes! All you have to do is contact WreathForTheFallen.org and we will make the necessary arrangements to have a hand made Honor Wreath placed on the grave you specify at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery of your choice. On our home page you can click on the red ribbon that says "Honor A Veteran Here" and either make your request "on line" or print a form to send with your contribution and sponsorship.
Q: The person I want to honor is not buried at any of the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery's. Could I still get a Honor Wreaths placed?
A: We are not able to actually place any Honor Wreaths at any cemetery other than the Minnesota State Veterans Cemeteries at Little Falls, Preston, Duluth, Redwood Falls and Leech Lake at this time.
Q: Will you place wreaths in Ft Snelling?
A: Unfortunately, not at this time. We will however assist you in contacting the people that can provide and place a Honor Wreath for you. Just Give us a call anyday after 1pm at 218-454-0245.
Q: Can I give more money than the cost of the wreaths I request?
A: You most certainly may. On our individual sponsorship form there is a line for any additional contribution you might like to make. Additional funds are always welcome to provide Honor Wreaths for those veterans that do not have a sponsor. We may also use extra contributions to defray the various administrative costs we encounter.
Q: What can I do to make sure wreaths continue after I'm gone?
A: WreathForTheFallen.org has recently introduced the “WFTF Memorial Fund”. We heard you and developed a way for families to supply Honor Wreaths virtually for perpetuity (forever). The fund is now available to the families of Veterans buried in any of the MN State Veteran Cemeteries.
